History1969/6 Asayama Shoji was founded in Shizuoka City. 1975/9 The company changed itself into Asayama Shoji Co., Ltd., a corporation, in order to enhance its dietary supplement business. 1980/12 The dietary supplement business was spun off into a separate company, named Mioh Foods Co., Ltd. 1982/02 The special dietary supplement mail order sales division, Asayama Family Club (current AFC Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary), was established. 1982/12 Asayama Shoji Co., Ltd., established a new plant attached to an office in Toro, Shizuoka City, and relocated its head office to the office in Toro. 1994/12 Mioh Foods Co., Ltd., founded a new plant attached to the head office and reestablished itself as a general OEM (original equipment manufacturing) manufacturer. 1995/11 The Nihon Preventive Medical Laboratory (current Nihon Preventive Medical Laboratory Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary) was founded within the plant of the Mioh Foods Co., Ltd., with the aim of promoting research and product planning of dietary supplements. 2000/09 Asayama Shoji Co., Ltd., absorbed Asayama General Planning and increased its capital to 102 million yen. 2001/01 Asayama Shoji Co., Ltd., changed its name to AMS Life Science Co., Ltd., concurrently with the completion of its new plant in Toyoda, Shizuoka City. 2001/07 The cosmetics division was founded, obtained a business license, and started the development and production of its original cosmetics. 2003/02 The company's capital was increased to 502 million yen. 2004/09 Nihon Preventive Medical Laboratory Co., Ltd., founded Kenko TV Co., Ltd. (current consolidated subsidiary) as its affiliated company. 2004/11 AMS Life Science Co., Ltd., increased its capital to 602,036,688 yen, as a result of the exercise of its subscription rights. 2005/03 The company listed its stock on the Jasdaq Securities Exchange and increased its capital to 1,345,786,688 yen. 2005/05 AMS Life Science Co., Ltd., founded its Tokyo office (Phone: 03-5784-9849). 2005/07 The second plant of AMS Life Science Co., Ltd., and the call center at the head office of AFC Co., Ltd., were completed. 2005/12 Kenko TV Co., Ltd. Film studio was completed. 2006/2 AMS Life Science Co., Ltd. To enhance recognition to overseas investor, JPY (2,000,000,000) Zero Coupon Japanese Yen Convertible Note Due (1 March 2010) convertible into (registered) Shares of Common Stock of AMS Life Science Co., Ltd. 2007/6 Honzo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (current consolidated subsidiary) was established. Their production and sals of Ethical Kampo (TCM/ Chinease harb) formulation, nonproprietary drug, and health care products were succeeded and the company diversified into medical business.
2007/12 Hanamai Co., Ltd. (current consolidated subsidiary) was added to the group by business transfer. 2008/1 The company entered into a contract of capital and business alliance with Takara Holdings Inc. |
